DANIEL OLAUSSON

Born and raised on the west coast of Sweden, in a small town witch goes under the name of Uddevalla. I first tried climbing when I was about 16 years old and ever since that first time I´ve been stuck. At the age of 21, two years after graduating from school, I basicly only climb and have done so for the past two years. I try to work hard for shorter periods of time and then climb and travel the remaining days of the year living from the money I hopefully have saved up. I do mostly bouldering but also, once in a while, I climb some routes.
What makes me like bouldering the most is that it´s possible to focus only on the movements and also because it´s a pretty simple and social way of climbing. I enjoy spending days with friends trying different problems together in the search for solutions but most of all I like it when I can go out on my own and focus only on the climb I´m about to try and nothing else.
I try hard not to be to obsessed with grades at the same time as I find them very good for motivating myself on training hard to improve. I enjoy to train a lot and as well as I love to be outdoors I don´t mind spending a day or two climbing at the gym. I can get almost just as psyched on doing moves on an indoor wall or campusboard as on an outdoorclimb but in the end, I must say that nothing beats climbing on something created by the nature...
